Summer arrives, the heat, the sun, the sea and what better plan than to enjoy a fantastic jet ski or jet ski ride with the sea breeze and accompanied by family or friends.

There is an increasing desire to repeat a ride on these motorcycles or live this experience for the first time.

At Navigate Boat Rent, we explain the main differences that exist when we talk about jet skis and water scooter, the advantages of each one and the most basic concepts that you should know before getting on any of them.

Surely you thought that it was the same vehicle, but the truth is that there are some quite obvious differences between them. Depending on the walk, route, experience you are looking for, it will be more advisable to choose one or the other.

What is the Jet Ski

The Jet Ski was invented a few years before the jet skis. The main feature that differentiates them from jet skis is that there is only one seat, that of the pilot.

Also, when the jet ski is stationary you cannot stand on it, as there is no space to sit down.

As is logical, the stability is not the same between both vehicles, since, when standing up, as is the case with the jet ski, it will make it more difficult for you to maintain stability during navigation.

Its weight is 305 kilos and to transport it you will need a winch. It has a capacity of 70 liters and a 165 hp engine.

In relation to the rules that must be followed to use a Jet Ski, they are the following.

  • It is recommended to navigate at least 200 meters from the beach and 50 meters from the coast.
  • To navigate this vehicle you must be over 16 years old or be 16 with parental authorization.

What is the Water scooter

As for jet skis, these were designed in the 1980s, years after the Jet Ski.

Jet skis are longer and wider than a jet ski, therefore they will give you greater stability.

On the jet skis you can sit while you navigate and you can also take a companion to enjoy the experience with you.

Its weight is similar to the jet ski, 300 kilos, it has a capacity of 60 liters and an engine from 50 to 300 CV.

The motorcycles must have their license plate, be registered and identified and also the person who drives them must have a license.

Another important difference that exists between a jet ski and a jet ski is that the latter is moved by the force of the water jet that it creates, the handlebar launches a cable that manages to change the direction of this jet of water, unlike of the jet ski, which turns the front wheel to move.

These are the main features and differences between jet skis and jet skis.
